NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course

The NRA Basic Shotgun Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target. This is a 10 hour course spanning 2 days and is held at the Provo Gun Club Clubhouse. The course usually begins on a Friday evening, and is completed the following Saturday. Schedules are flexible, however, so ask if you need other arrangements!

The course includes:

    Approximately 10 hours of instruction from an NRA Certified Instructor, and an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.
        Students learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling
        Shotgun parts and operation
        Shotgun shell components
        Shotgun shell malfunctions
        Shooting fundamentals
        Range rules
        Shooting at straight away and angled targets
        Shotgun cleaning
        Discuss continued opportunities for skill development
    NRA Student Kit
        Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook
        NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure
        Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet
        Student Examination
        NRA Course Completion Certificate.
    Tuition also includes 50 Targets and Field/Range time on the last day.
